What is monoKEP?

  • monoKEP is your electronic signature right in the monobank app. It works online for signing documents and confirming your identity in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.

    It can be:

    • QES — qualified electronic signature, the private key is stored on a secure device (token, cryptographic module).
    • AdES — advanced electronic signature, the private key is stored on your device (file-based storage).

    Sign documents quickly and securely, anywhere.

What is an electronic signature?

  • An electronic signature is your “handwritten” signature in the digital world! There are two main types: advanced (AdES) and qualified (QES). Why do you need them? First, to confirm that you really signed the document and that nobody has tampered with it. Second, it is a legally significant action and reliable evidence in court. Also, an electronic signature protects the document from changes — no one can alter it unnoticed. What is the difference? A QES has a higher level of protection and is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature, and therefore enjoys greater trust.

What is a file-based key storage?

  • A file-based key storage is a special file that contains your private key. To use it:

    1. Save your monoKEP with the “Share key” button (on the electronic signature page in the app)
    2. On the website where a signature is required, choose the “File” method
    3. Find the QTSP monobank | Universal Bank in the list
    4. Upload the saved key file there
    5. Enter your password and everything is signed!
How do I get an electronic signature using the mobile app?
    1. For individuals: In the “More” menu, select monoKEP.
      For business: In the “Profile” menu, in the sole proprietor or legal entity section, select monoKEP.
    2. Confirm your consent to create monoKEP.
    3. Take a selfie and set a password — and you’re done!
How do I sign documents in the monobank mobile app?
    1. Download the document to your phone.
    2. Find it in “Files”, tap “Share” and select monobank.
    3. It will open in our app. Sign it there and you’re done!
How do I revoke a certificate?
    1. For individuals: In the “More” menu, select monoKEP.
      For business: In the “Profile” menu, in the sole proprietor or legal entity section, select monoKEP.
    2. Tap the Revoke certificate button.
